Chasing Change - the adventure

Shelley gets knocked down by life over and again; we’ve all been there (whoever said that things happen in threes needs to learn to count). She tires of life dictating change to her on someone else's terms. Life even tempts her with the gorgeous Robert, who is trapped by heartbreaking responsibilities for the foreseeable future.

Spending some time healing after being blindsided by her husband's infidelity and subsequent disappearance into the arms of the enemy, Shelley embraces change on her own terms. She buys a campervan and begins a journey around Australia with her bestie, Cate, then things go south (even though they were travelling north).

Change wasn't quite finished with Shelley. Cate returned to Sydney and into the arms of  her previous disappearing fiancé by way of him turning up in a stiff suit in the middle of a holiday park in tropical Cairns looking totally out of place and shamelessly contrite.

Unsure if she felt comfortable travelling alone across thousands of kilometres of remote highway, Shelley takes on board fellow travellers for company and shared costs. Unfortunately, those travellers hijacked (vanjacked?) her in the middle of the night in the Australian bush, 800 km (500mi) from the nearest big city.

Then shit gets real … and really funny.

Shelley learns that possessions are not necessarily what make you happy (still agrees that they help, though) while she makes friends with interesting outback characters, experiences areas she would never have seen, and spends a short but wonderful time with the oh-so-delightful country cop, Sgt Garry.

Does Shelley find love in the end? Will heart-throb, Robert, ever be free of the heartrending responsibilities that keep him from Shelley? You’ll have to read Chasing Change to find out!

While Chasing Change is a standalone book, its lead characters, Shelley and Robert, will continue in book 2, Changing Chance. Annemarie is writing her cancer journey through them with a unique perspective, a few tears, some endearing extra characters and a lot of laughs.
